Lennie Carter, Assistant Vice President, Administrative Services

Lennie Carter serves as Assistant Vice President for Administrative Services. He has oversight of Accounts Payable and Distribution Services, Consolidated Billing, Cost Accounting and Compliance (F&A, DS2, NSF Survey and Fringe Benefits negotiations), Payroll Services (including W2s and employee reimbursements), Purchasing and Contracts (vendor databases, 1099 reporting, preferred vendor relationships, ProCard, American Express, and LSDBE reporting), and Sponsored Accounting (A-133 Audit, sub-contracts payables, invoicing, financial reporting, overdrafts, and effort reporting). He also oversees Financial Affairs policies and procedures development and implementation. As a member of the senior management team, he provides direct support to the Sr. Vice President, CFO and Treasurer and is expected to serve in and contribute to decisions concerning activities supporting the tactical, strategic and operational objectives of the Division and the University.

Prior to joining Georgetown University in 1995, Lennie held various positions at Johns Hopkins University for 16 years, including Administrative Manager of Continuing Studies, Human Resources Manager for the School of Public Health, Payroll Manager, and Manager of Sponsored Accounting.

Lennie received a Bachelor’s of Science from The Ohio State University and a Master’s in Administrative Science in Management from The Johns Hopkins University. Lennie was an adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins for 16 years.
