Georgetown's endowment serves as the University's financial support mechanism. It provides funding for current and future operations. As of the end of Fiscal Year 2014, Georgetown's endowment reached $1.5 billion, a figure that is low relative to other top-tier institutions. General information about the University's endowment can be found here.
The endowment's funds are acquired through fundraising, which is overseen by the Office of Advancement, and returns on investment, which is overseen by the Investment Office. Financial Management of these funds, including the development of financial reports and projections, is handled by the General Accounting Office. Questions concerning financial management should be directed to the Senior Accountant for Endowments.
